June 23-27

OUTDOOR ADVENTURES: Join us for a week

of outdoor activities as we hike the trails, cook over a fire, and

climb some boulders.

 

June 30-July3

ARC OF THE ARROW I: Examine the hidden

science behind the art of archery and enter the world of

physics. Conduct numerous physical experiments using the arrow

and the bow while improving your skills as an archer. Each

day will include time on the range for archery skill development.

Special fee $150

or

 

KAYAKING: Here’s your chance to try out a fast, nimble paddle

craft. You will learn basic paddling technique, water safety, and

put your skills to the test by playing kayak games.

Special fee $150

 

July 7-11

BIRDS OF PREY: Learn about birds of prey, their

lives in the wild, and the adaptations that make them special. Help

care for our resident live birds by feeding, cleaning, and checking

health issues.  Learn the basics of handling live birds of prey, and

start on the road to learning to care for wildlife

or

SMITHING: Learn the skills of a blacksmith, tinsmith, silversmith,

and coppersmith by making a project using each metal through forging, smelting, and working

with sheet metal and wire. 

 

 

July 14-18

SURVIVAL SKILLS: Learn all the skills necessary to survive in

the wilderness.  Learn how to use a map & compass

to bushwhack off trail.  Advance your cooking skills throughout

the week as we prepare our lunches over camp stove and

open fire.  Wild edible foods, wilderness first aid, obtaining water,

proper food care, walking techniques, gear selection,

hypothermia, weather, rope skills, fire building, and camp skills

will be covered.  An overnight at Indian Rock will put all your

skills to the test. Special fee $205

or

MOVE IT: Spend a week making various machines that move.

Each camper will make an air boat, air car, and a catapult. The

group will work together to make a falling arm treguchet. After

making each machine, we will do experiments with each one.

July 21-25

ADVANCED ROCKETRY: Advance your rocket building skills

and design and build two of your own rockets.

Special fee $195

or

CANOEING: Basic canoe handling and safety skills will start

off the week. Explore Indian Lake by canoe as you study the

shoreline and deep water regions. Races and games will help

improve your canoeing abilities.

 

July 28- Aug. 1

ARC OF THE ARROW II: This week is designed

for the camper who has taken Arc of the Arrow and would

like to continue his or her archery skills. New projects for the

week will be the construction of wrist guards, finger tabs, and a

bow drill fire making set.

or

KAYAKING: Same description as June 30 week.  Fee is $180.00.

 

August 4-8

CANOE FISHING: Canoes will serve as vessels of

discovery as we paddle and fish the waters of Indian Lake. Basic

canoeing and safety skills will start the week. Learn a variety

of techniques on fishing for Largemouth Bass in a canoe. In

depth studies of fish ecology and anatomy will be coupled with

advanced studies of the Indian Rock watershed.

or

ADVANCED KAYAKING: This is a continuation of training

for campers who have completed kayaking. During the week

campers will focus on building their paddling skills and working

on their kayak roll. Toward the end of the week we will take

a day trip to explore other waters beyond Indian Lake.

 

August 11-15

HIKING ADVENTURES: Available only to campers who have

successfully completed Explorers or survival skills.  Learn

overland travel skills as we explore the woodland

paths of our region. An overnight to Mt. Monadnock State Park

in New Hampshire with day hikes on the mountain is planned.

This week involves hiking 3-5 miles per day over rough terrain

and involves moderate to heavy work load.

Special fee $215

 

or

WATER SPORTS: Spend the week on Indian Lake canoeing,

kayaking, snorkeling, and swimming.  Splash around playing

water games and learning the basics of water safety and rescue

skills.

 

August 18-22

SO LONG TO SUMMER: Join us for a week

fun and games as we say goodbye to summer. Treasure hunts,

forest games, races, and a barbecue party will round out the week.
