sheep, pig, chicken, turkey, rabbit, and
honey bees, and make a craft product from each animal.

STEP OUTSIDE: Put the right foot forward this summer
by stepping outside to explore. Spend
time
fishing, swimming, and hiking the Preserve’s
trails. Special fee $150

TREASURE HUNTER: Learn the skill of a modern day treasure
hunter. Discover how to unearth
clues to find lost treasure, whether on land
or under water. You will search for
different hidden
treasures each day, and take home your share of
the loot. Special fee $150
July 7-11
WOODLAND GAMES: Fun and games in the forest are the
themes for this week! Capture the flag,
treasure hunts, and hide & find are just
some of the many activities planned for this action-packed week.

REPTILES AND AMPHIBIANS: Learn to identify these cold-blooded
creatures and explore their
secret world.
Using our live collections, campers will acquire care and handling
skills.
July 14-18
INDIAN ADVENTURES: Look back in time to explore Native
American society and culture.
Visit wigwams and an authentic rock
shelter used by ancient tribes. Learn
the many fascinating
ways tools, foods, and crafts were used and
created by early native peoples.

FASCINATING CREATURES: Whether they have fur or feathers,
crawl, fly, hop, or swim, the
wild animals of our world have always
captured our imaginations. Using our
collection of live
birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and
mounted animals, you will get up close to some of our
warm-blooded friends before venturing into the
forest to make new discoveries.
July 21-25
SPACE DISCOVERY: Explore the solar system and stars in
our STAR LAB planetarium. Learn
about outer space and the history of space
travel. Build and launch your own model rocket.

GEMSTONES & GEOLOGY: Enjoy rock collecting, stone polishing,
jewelry making, and even panning
for gold as you learn about rocks,
minerals, and features of the land around us.
July 28- Aug. 1
PATHFINDERS: If you enjoy the outdoors, join us this
week as we learn how to have safe outdoor
experiences.
Learn about maps, basic compass, knots, climbing, plant and animal
hazards, have a
cookout, and learn how to find your way in the
forest so you won’t get lost.

COLONIAL TIMES: Step back in time to be a pioneer. Try your hands at colonial crafts, games,
and preparing colonial foods. Make a bees’
wax candle, eggs shell container, straw doll, miniature
stone cabin. Each day will feature a colonial
food to make and eat.
August 4-8
I SPY: Become a spy team member.
Your job, should you accept it, will be to spy on others without
being seen or heard. You will learn how to
sneak up, listen and observe what others are doing. This will
challenge your skills as you learn how to
camouflage yourself, move quietly, use sign language, make codes,
and put your observations together to
understand what is going on.

WORLD OF FLIGHT: Investigate the principles of flight
through natural flyers and flying machines.
Make gliders, boomerangs, and parachutes
and have fun flying them. Learn how bats, birds, and insects
have mastered life on the wing. We will highlight the week with a visit to
the cockpit of an airplane.
August 11-15
YOUNG SCIENTIST: The natural world is science in action!
Use your senses to engage in hands-on
experiments and activities. Explore this realm of
science to unlock many of its mysteries.

ANIMAL ART: Have fun learning about animals while making your own
drawings and sculptures.
Use your art work to create mini
-habitats and exhibits.
August 18-22
SO LONG TO SUMMER: Join us for a week of fun and games as
we say good-bye to summer.
Treasure hunts, forest games, races, and
a barbecue party round out the week.
