June 23-27 INDIAN WAYS: Explore the days when only Indian footsteps walked the forests of Indian Rock.  Learn about Indian culture and customs while visiting our wigwams and Indian Rock.  Taste Indian food.  Make an arrowhead necklace, a shield, pottery, and much more!

 

June 30-July 3 AMAZING ANIMALS: Learn about mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and insects by visiting with live and mounted animals. After an exciting hands-on visit, venture into the forest, pond, or stream in search of the animals’ natural homes.  Special fee: $150

 

July 7-11 TRAILSIDE DISCOVERIES: Each day we will hike a different trail using our five senses to explore life along the way.  After the hike, there will be a follow- up activity to reinforce the discoveries of the day.

 

July 14-18 FARM LIFE: Work with and learn about our pig, cow, rabbits, honeybees, chickens, and sheep.  Visit with a different animal each day and make a craft or product from each animal.

 

July 21-25 ACTIVE EARTH: Discover how mountains are formed and what makes a volcano erupt by doing fun, hands on activities.  Explore outside to see how water, ice, and wind continue to shape the earth.  Learn about different kinds of rocks and start your own rock collection.

 

July 28- Aug. 1 LIFE IN THE WATER: Investigate many of the wondrous creatures that make the water their home.  Streams, lakes, ponds, and swamps will be visited in this search for small

and large animals of the watery world.  Bring your fishing pole the first day to learn the skills for fishing for Largemouth Bass in Indian Lake.

 

August 4-8 SCIENCE MAGIC: Discover the magic of science this week as you explore the mysteries of nature.  Use your senses to experiment with sounds, light, motions, and colors in a natural setting.

 

August 11-15 SMALL LIFE: Explore the world of small creatures from worms, spiders, insects,  and other invertebrate life along with the interesting little plants.  Discover how they use their   senses and compare them to yours.

 

August 18-22 SO LONG TO SUMMER: Join us for a week of fun and games as we say good-bye to summer.  Treasure hunts, forest games, races, and a barbecue party will round out the week.
