Indian Rock and Barnes Nature CenterBirthday parties are 11/2 hours in length, consisting of a 45 minute educational program (see below) and a 45 minute party. Parties offered at Indian Rock may require a full hour for program segment. All paper products, refreshments, and supervision during the food/gift section of the party are provided by the adult/parent booking the party. Parents are also responsible for set up and clean up of room. Parties should be scheduled in advance, two week advance notice is recommended. Parties may be booked weekday afternoons and weekends. Availability is dependent on the staff, facility, and season. The fee for ELCCT Family members is $105.00 for 15 people. Each additional person is $7.00 each. The fee for non-members is $165.00 for 15 people; each additional person is $11.00. There is a $35.00 charge if you would like to use the room for an additional half hour. Wigwam Adventures has a minimum fee of $140.00 for members and $190.00 for non members. Please call 589-8200 for further information on memberships. Programs Available Hayride and Farm Tour - Bring your friends to the farm and visit with our cow, sheep, chickens and rabbits. Wrap up your farm tour with a hayride around Indian Lake! Nature Walk - Hike the trails of Indian Rock as we focus on the season's highlights. We may see signs of wildlife and learn about the environment.Tunxis Indians - Learn about the Tunxis tribe that once roamed the woods of Indian Rock by taking a tractor drawn hayride around the lake. Visit the historic Indian Rock itself and our Wigwam.Wigwam Adventure - Travel back in time during your visit to our authentic Native American Wigwam. Nestled within the preserve’s forest, you will rediscover how the First Americans lived in harmony with the natural world. Each child will bring home an arrowhead amulet to remember their adventure. ($140.00 minimum fee for family members, $190.00 for non members)Pond Life - Investigate the lives of the plants and animals in the pond along the shore. Use nets to scoop up leaves along the shore and look for the little creatures that live there. (Available in the Spring Only)Visit with the Animals - Spend some time with our animal friends at Barnes. Visit with our resident snakes, frogs and turtles.Nature Walk - Hike the trails of the Nature Center as we focus on the season's highlights.
