Indian Rock Nature Preserve

Educational Facilities Offerings:

The Indian Rock Nature Preserve facilities are available for rental to businesses and organizations for meetings, workshops, seminars, training sessions, and private conferences. 

The facilities are set within the beauty and serenity of the Indian Rock Nature Preserve.  The preserve provides an ideal natural and relaxed setting that fosters creativity and learning.  The Indian Rock Nature Preserve features a 9-acre lake, farm area, and walking trails.  The nature preserve trails and grounds are open to walking with rental of either the Orchard House or Pebble House.

Special programs, such as hayrides or canoeing, can be arranged for your staff at an additional charge.

Rock Climbing as a team building initiative including team building exercises such as trust falls and prussiking. 

Ø      February Pinewood Derby

Pinewood Derby races may be held on Saturdays in February at the Orchard House for a fee of $100/morning and $100/afternoon.

Rental Procedure:

Buildings will be rented on a first-come, first-served basis.  To schedule a rental or to make an appointment to view the facilities please call the Indian Rock Nature Preserve business office at (860) 583-1234.

Facilities Available:

The Orchard House contains two smaller classrooms as well as a larger activity room.  The building is set next to an apple orchard and overlooking the farm area of the preserve.  Picnic tables are located outside the Orchard House.

Fee:

All day use of the entire building: $350

Activity Room:

• Dimensions: 30 feet by 35 feet.

• Accommodates 75 people, 100 maximum.

• Freezer & refrigerator space, a sink, and a microwave available for use.

Classroom:

• Dimensions: 19 feet by 22 feet.

• Accommodates 20 people.

• Adjoins the activity room.

Classroom:

• Dimensions: 12 feet by 22 feet.

• Accommodates 10 to 15 people.

• Adjoins the activity room.

The Pebble House is a stone building with a porch and two rooms – a large room and a small room – each with a fireplace.  The building is set near the lakeshore and dock.  Picnic tables are located outside the Pebble House. 

*Pebble House is available for rental December 9, 2002 – January 9, 2003 and August 30, 2003 – September 15, 2003.*

• Accommodates 10 people.

• Paneled in knotty pine.

• Small fireplace.

• Wooden floors.

All day use of entire building: $150
